Dear Parents/Carers

As you are aware the end of the academic year is fast approaching and we thought it necessary to bring to your attention a few uniform issues that have been causing concern over the last few weeks, and clarifying things for September.

It has become apparent that a number of students are wearing trousers and skirts that are not in line with our expectations of school uniform. Please be aware that some stores’ school uniform ranges do not fulfil our uniform rules. Trousers must be plain black, in a formal style, this does not include skinny fit trousers, leggings or any form of jeans or cords. Skirts should be black and knee length - no shorter. Tight or pencil skirts are not acceptable. If your child is in school and their uniform is not appropriate a letter will be sent home with them explaining the problem and requesting the offending item is replaced by the end of the week.

In addition we would also like to remind you that students should return in September with hair that is of a natural colour; in an appropriate style and absolutely no facial piercings (all that is allowed is one pair of plain studs in the ears). The uniform requirements can be found in student planners and on the school website. We would encourage all parents and students to check the requirements before purchasing new uniform for September.

If you do have any questions at all regarding uniform please feel free to contact your child’s form tutor.

We look forward to your support with the above issues.

Yours sincerely

J L Atkinson
